Unboxing The MET Roam Helmet | GMBN Unboxing

– In this GMBN unboxing
video, we’re taking a look at MET’s brand new trail helmet, the Roam. And don’t forget, we’re giving
away some of these helmets actually we’ve given away five of these, so keep watching ’til the end of the video to work out how you can get the chance, so let’s take an up close look. So this is the Roam, brand
new for September 2017, so it’s literally just
come out as we speak. And this is the black and
red matte and glossy version. It comes in seven different colours, you can actually choose
which colour you want. You can see it’s matte black at the top, matte red at the back, and
then glossy red underneath. But it’s a helmet, so let’s take a look at those safety features first. So this helmet is designed
to be lightweight, comfortable, and refined. It’s got and EPS outer shell like most of the mountain bike helmets. This has also got three
polycarbonate nicks in there so it makes that shell more durable for the lifetime of the helmet. It’s got plenty of
coverage over the temple and the back of the head, two really important areas on your head. Super important for mountain
biking to be covered and also this peak is designed to flex so in the case of a face plant like we all do occasionally, it’s designed to flex, won’t actually push that helmet back on your head or also moves quite far back. So this helmet has been designed to give that extended coverage really important for trail helmet but also designed to be comfortable. So you’ve got those
soft lining pads inside. They’re all velcro so you can remove them when they get dirty and sweaty as they will do eventually. Having said that this
helmet’s got 22 vents. So front and rear to help the air flow through the helmet. Got some under the peak, some in the peak, at the back to let the air come out to let your head stay nice and cool. You’ve also got these
internal channels in there, can see just below those pads, to get that air flowing through. This is actually the non-MIPS
version of the helmet. It’s available for a little bit extra cash in that MIPS version to help
with those rotational impacts. The Roam also features MET’s brand new Safe-T Orbtial retention system. So that is just a very
simple one handed movement to give you that ratchet, bring that helmet nice and tight to the back of your head. Great for comfort, but also really important your helmet doesn’t move in any impact. So super adjustable in an I, again, using one hand, but also you’ve got
three vertical positions on the back of your head, and also this part moves in; it’s got two different
positions there, too. You get that really comfortable. This helmet is available
in three different sizes, small medium and large, going from 52 centimetres right up to 62. Also very cool little feature is that Safe-T retention
system fits this LED light so let’s unbox that quickly, take a look at it. So that is a super neat little LED light, clips on that simply onto
that retention system. Great for night riding, commuting, if you use this helmet for
a couple different things. Got all these different modes
to make sure you’re seen. It’s very modern it’s USB chargeable. So, pretty cool. Also you see the back of this helmet is actually designed to
be ponytail compatible. I’m afraid I’m not gonna
be able to prove that, but I’m sure many riders would like to take advantage of that. Now on the straps this helmet
you’ve got a nice little touch that MET logo in rubber. You’ve also got these
adjustable cam dividers so for getting those
straps nice and comfortable around your ears, you just pop that open and
move those straps around. It’s got that cam in there so when you shut it it just keeps those straps nice and tight. Also see the positive
click when you shut that. Now if you’re a rider that likes to use goggles with your open face helmet, then this works really well. The strap sits nicely on
the back of the helmet, also then goes underneath this part the peak to hold it nice and tight. Very nice little touch there. Then the peak adjusts
three different positions. You can get your goggles
placed underneath there, so great for climbing if you don’t want those goggles on your face. Also the helmet is obviously compatible with glasses maybe the more common type of eyewear you’re gonna
wear with this helmet. Now another little nice
touch to this helmet is this channel that’s
inside that helmet shell. So if we’re using a POV camera on top of the helmet, or a light or anything like that, the straps they’re designed to go and sit inside there so it doesn’t mess with the liner of your helmet. Very well thought out. So the weight for this helmet
is 335 grammes in a medium, or 360 for the version with MIPS fitted. Like I said they’re available
in small medium and large, and in seven different colours. But, you could win one of
these helmets and lights. We’re giving away five of these so get yourself in the competition. Follow the link in the
