Hi, I’m Gary Fisher, and I’m here at Trek to show you a fabulous new bike that’s a lot of fun. But let me tell you about an idea that gets me really excited – plus-sized tires. This is where it’s at – fat! These things are almost 3 inches wide, and they’re mounted on nice wide rims. They’re super stable and the traction is amazing, and traction is so much your friend. This set up gives riders so much more confidence, especially when the trail gets loose and nasty. If you haven’t ridden one, you’re in for a big surprise. You gotta try this! So we’re making this new bike that gives more people a chance to try this great idea. It’s the all-new Roscoe. So the big idea is that we built Roscoe around these great 27.5 plus-sized tires so that any rider can get the nice confident-feeling of a trail bike, but in a simple, accessible hardtail. We gave Roscoe a new Alpha Gold Aluminum frame with a big tapered head tube and no flexing in this frame. We’ve got 120mm of suspension in the front to make the bike handle like it’s a party. This gives you a lot more confidence on that gnarly, crazy stuff. We also gave it a nice wide handlebar and little short stem to give you some extra leverage. Then there’s these 1x drivetrains. They’re durable, simple, and easy to use. With that 28-tooth chainring, you get the wide gear range, but still with a nice low gear so you can climb up anything. And this Boost141 rear hub spacing allows us to fit these big tires in here. Not to mention that the wider hub makes for a stronger wheel. All Roscoes are compatible with an internally routed dropper post, and select models even come with one. Then there’s the geometry. This bike’s got a slacker head angle than a regular cross-country bike. So man, you can handle that gnarly stuff on the downhill. And these chainstays! Because of the Boost hubs that are wider, we can move this rear end and make it shorter. What does this do? It really gives you the ability to take this bike and flick it around those corners like it’s nothing. That is a huge value that really makes a difference to how you ride. The bike is available in an extended size range. This includes XXL sizes for people as tall as me (or taller!) and XS sizes so that we can fit just about everybody. Roscoe is also available in women’s models so everyone can enjoy this bike. What a bike! Let me tell ya, if you want to get outside in the woods and have fun on the trails without breaking the bank, this new Roscoe is the bike you want to do it on. It’s confident, it’s easy to ride, and it’s a whole lot of fun! Yes, Roscoe!
