Technical Single Speed Brompton Video Review

hey folks this is Peter from bikes and life.
Now we’re here to take a closer look at some technical details of the Brompton
single speed. This bike has a 50 tooth chaining in the front and a 12 tooth chaining in the
back and that’s giving it a gear inches measurement about 74 gear
inches. Now in terms of equivalents compared to a road bike with 700c wheels, this will be like having a 48 tooth chaining on the front and a 17 in the back so it’s a
good moderate gear it pretty quick not super awesome proceed pills but it
makes the bike you know simple lightweight if you wanted to get
something that was a little bit better for climbing hills you could switch this
to a 44 tooth chaining in the front or if you wanted to make it faster you could
switch this to 54 tooth chaining in the front. So again this is a very simple, lightweight, pretty quick
option. If you’re a strong rider its ok for hills but if you’re not super strong I
would recommend either gearing it down by reducing that front chainring or
maybe look at the two speed option instead which gives you the same top
gear but a nice hill climbing you. Thanks so much for watching video on the
Brompton single speed gearing. If you want to learn more about the
