Review: Riese & Muller Delite Full Suspension Electric Bike

So it’s mid-afternoon, and
you’re sitting at your desk and you’re thinking about where else you might want
to be. Maybe it’s on the beach or in the redwoods, or I don’t know. If it was me,
I’d want to be eating an oyster in Marshall, which is where I grew up. The
magic is that I’m going to get there by Delite. That’s a new bike from Riese &
Müller that just came to the United States and, honestly, we’re super-excited about
it here at The New Wheel. It will literally transform your life, and
we couldn’t be more excited to be bringing it here to customers in the Bay Area. In
this video, I am going to talk a little bit about the ways in which we feel Riese
& Müller was really the company that could come out with this bike, some of the
features that make it what it is, and the customers who might really enjoy
it. And the ways in which The New Wheel will work with you to create the bicycle
of your dreams that will help you live an adventuresome life. The Delite was
actually developed in 1998 as a touring bike that integrates the features of
full-suspension riding. Great electric bicycles are powerful and they’re fast.
The features that the Delite really brings to the table are control and comfort.
You’ve got control, because you’ve got these beefy tires and you’ve got full
suspension, which just keeps you glued to the ground. The bicycle has one key
feature, and that’s the ability to have full suspension and a fully operational
rear rack. This means you can carry stuff to work, you can take a camping trip, but
you still have those comfort and control features of a full-suspension electric
bicycle. Like all Riese & Müller bicycles, the Delite is made for you in Germany, and
that means there are lots of different specifications that you can make that will
make it perfect for your needs. As you’re thinking about the bike that
would suit your needs best, there’s two big categories. We’ve got
off-road and city use. Within those categories, you can choose 650B tires or
29-inch. You can get an external derailer, a NuVinci, or you can get a Rohloff,
which has one of the widest gear ranges of any gearing setup on a bicycle. Then,
there’s choice of motor. Either a high-torque CX motor, or a
high-speed Performance Speed motor from Bosch. In terms of batteries, you can get
either a single 500 watt-hour power pack or you can double it. Bosch has come up
with a way to daisy-chain batteries, which is exceptionally exciting and means
that this bike will actually go farther than your average electric car. On the
urban bike, you get lights, fenders, and a rack, and you can even
choose to have an ABUS Bordo lock that is specially keyed to the same key as your
batteries. Check out this video on how the Riese & Müller made-for-you ordering
process works, on what you can expect, and what the timeframe is. Remember, it’s
actually a vehicle. It opens the world up to you. Yeah. You can get across the city.
You can also ride 100 or 120 miles and see something completely new in a way that
you’ve never dreamt of before. So if those are the kind of options, if
those are the kinds of life experiences that you’re looking for, this bike is
really worth coming in to try. The New Wheel has shops in San Francisco
and here in Marin County, and I really encourage you to come in and
test drive the Delite. Because we’re having so much fun on it,
and we’d love to share that experience with you as well. ♪ [music] ♪
