Mountain Biking Down Under! | Blake’s Australia Vlog

(metal crunching) (upbeat electronic music) – [Flight Attendant] This way please. – We are currently on the
other side of the planet from where our country is. We’re in Australia, dude. Whoa. Where’s the kangaroos at? There. (door opening) Ooh. Time to ride. Got water, obviously going to need that, ’cause it’s going to be so hot over here. It’s already over 30. Got a new bag. Every day’s a good day. Let’s go to the trails. Greenmount State Park,
that’s where we’re going. (maniacal laughter) Obviously we’ve got
cameraman Jack Boy here. That’s why his bike’s in first. Nice, oh, wait. Full bag. Do you reckon we’re going to
see one of those hopping rats? What are they? Kangaroos. Do you reckon we’re
going to see one of them? – [Jack] Maybe. – Oh. – [Jack] I hope so. – I’m telling you, I think
we’re going to see a kangaroo. Jack, do you think kangaroos live… Jack, where’s… There’s a kangaroo, Jack. – [Jack] Where? – There. – Where?
– There. It actually wasn’t a kangaroo, Jack, it was a freaking chair. Literally a chair. Oh, Jack, are we going to see kangaroos? – [Jack] Well, I hope so. (upbeat drum music) – All right, Greenmount
State Forest is where we are. Parked up, just met some dude, he told us some trails. He said Lancaster over there is a black, so we’re going to warm up on that, but we’re not going to film it because we are still
hungover from jet lag, and it would probably
look like the sketchiest video of my entire life. So we’re going to go
now, after warming up, we’re going to go over there
to a trail called Lovespades. What is it called, Jack? – [Jack] Love in. – Love in the spades? – [Jack] Loving shovels – Loving shovels? Doesn’t matter. We’re going to go ride a black over there. And that’s kind of got some jumps. So we’re going to warm up over there, I would say warm up. It’s really hot, it’s 30 degrees. So we’re going to go over there. There’s another mountain biker. Wicked. I’m going to make some friends. See you in a bit. (upbeat drum music) We’re at the top. This is like one of the power lines. I think we go up there to the top, and then we drop into that black. Oh, Luvin Shovels. (bike wheels hitting the ground) Oh, my! (upbeat drum music) (man laughing) (steak sizzling) (rooster crows) – [Jack] What are we doing now, Blake? – We are in convoy with Sam Hill. We’re going to the moto track first today, ’cause he wants to ride moto. ‘Cause that’s what he likes
to do in a day, or two. And then we’re going
to go to the bike park. And then we’re going to ride some bikes. And then, well, and then
the day’s potentially over. There’s a lot to do today. A lot. And a lot of driving. It’s like four hours of driving. Whoa. – [Jack] Cool. – Cool. (motorcycle engine roars) – (laughing) That. Aw, man, I love moto. I need to buy a moto. I need to buy a moto. ‘Cause he’s just making me want
to buy a bike, all the time. (motorcycle engine roars) Now, that was nuts. Moto all day every day, that is. I freaking love it. What did you think? – It was very good. Very good. He is very quick as well, actually. – He is quick. He’s a quick man. Now, lunch, and then we’re
going to the bike park. I’m hungry. – [Jack] There’s flies in our car. – There’s flies in our car. Get out flies. – [Jack] Where are we off to, Blake? – We’re off to Linga Longa
now, to the bike park. We just had a good morning
of watching Sam bomb moto. Take a look at this corner. Whoa. How insane is that? I just love it, I love it. We got some lunch, got a wrap there. Busy munching on it. Jack’s finished his. We’re on our way, following Sam. So we’re going to have
an afternoon of scoping for the next video, which is tomorrow, which is all about racing an ATV, and Alister McRae, Colin McRae’s brother, he is going to be racing the ATV. It’s going to be nuts. So more fun-filled packed
goodness coming up. Let’s get to the bike park. – See, I come in sideways through here, and just straight down the side. As you can see, it goes that way, but you can come in sideways
and then you get that shot. – [Blake] That looks so good. (car engine running) (footsteps crunching) It’s crazy, yeah. – You ever ridden on
stuff like this before? – No. (man laughs) – That’s what you want. – [Blake] Get the buggy bombing up here. Finished the day at Linga Longa bike park. What an epic place. We’re going back now, we’re
going to go get pizza, and chill. Because tomorrow, I mean,
it’s race day, it’s race day. Sam Hill and a guy. – Alister.
– Alister. How could I forget that? Look at the birds (unintelligible). (rooster crows) – [Blake] Linga Longa bike park, a hell of a place to ride your bike. Which we did not do once. I didn’t even get my bike up. Only because we had
the opportunity to film with the infamous Sam Hill against Alister McRae,
yes, the rally driver. (upbeat drum music) – Ready. (engine roaring) – (laughing) Oh my, hell! (coughing) – Nice. (engine roaring) – That’s pretty muddy. – That’s close, eh? – [Blake] What do you think of that, Sam? – I’m a bit scared of this
big machine mowing me down. (laughing) But, yeah, got some
nice pictures and stuff. – [Blake] Oh, now that is literally too close for comfort, that. – The moment just went past that quickly. – Nuts. Absolutely nuts. It’s race day, eh? – Bit more nervous than I
thought I’d be after doing that. (engine revving) – [Blake] What do you think, Alister? – Good. – Good? (engine roaring) Savage. Absolutely savage, that thing. Driven it. (exhales) Insane. 24 inches of travel, that thing’s got. 195 brake horsepower, that thing’s got. (engine roaring) This is something else. I’m normally always in front of the lens, but now I’m working behind the lens, on a project like this, insane. It’s like goosebumps! It’s like… I love it. I love it. I’m glad I’m not driving it, to be honest, because holy moly, that
thing’s an absolute savage. And, thanks to Savage
Motorcycles for giving it to us, because without that, and Alister, they organized that as well, I don’t think we’d be able to do this. So thanks to them. But it’s super crazy, man. I love it. Let’s carry on. (engine roaring) (Blake laughing) – Oh, man, I got lightheaded. That was insane! (engine roars) – God! Is it still alive? (Blake coughing) Whoa, look at that. Look at the state of my GoPro. Whoa! You got my GoPro, absolutely. (both laughing) – Was that a stand? – [Blake] Yeah. Nice. Are we going to
get a shot down here? – [Jack] Yeah, I’m
going to get a pan shot. – Are you up for that? – Yeah, I’m always up for it. – Nice. (engine roaring) Just making Jack’s life easier. I’m a cameraman. I’m ready. Actually don’t know what I’m doing. (bicycle wheels turning) Whoa! Nice. (laughs) That is something else. Look at this dust. (soft piano music) Thank you. So, dirt tan. What an epic day, what an
epic ending to a good day. But it’s time to have a shower. I’m going to go in the lake. ‘Cause we’re dirty. And I stink. Bath time. (rooster crows) Hey, it’s the next day
from driving so far away. We’ve come all the way
back to Byford, near Perth. And today is a very special day, because we’ve just been invited to go on some epic uplift day, which is far away again. We’ve got to drive
another two to three hours to get to the spot. But we thought, to hell with it, we need to go and do it, ’cause it’s going to be
something very, very different. So, let’s get in the car, and just, let’s go straight to the action, because who wants to see us driving? (car door slams) (Blake exhales heavily) Good car, man. Good truck. So, what are we doing? – We are Tank eight, I
always get the tanks wrong, we are Tank eight and we are about to… – We’re tank one. – Tank one, is it? I’m lost. – Tank one.
– Tank one. We’re about to see if that’ll start, and if it does, it’s
going to go to the bottom, and we’re going to try
and beat it down on bikes. – We’re going to try and beat it down. As you’ve seen by the story, they have cut the exhaust
so we can actually hear it, so we can time it to see
where we are on the trail, to where the truck is. (bike wheels turning) (engine roaring) – [All] Oh no! – [Blake] No! (laughs) What’s happened?
– No! – We’ve lost him, we’ve lost
the one gear we did have. – We may have lost any drive we did have. – Oh, wow. – [Blake] And we don’t even have park. Oh, we’ve got park.
– We got park. What happened? – Oh, this is all part
of the Aussie plan, mate. Don’t worry about it. We’re just having a barbie. (all laughing) Yeah, that’s supposed to happen. – That’s getting quite hot,
and it’s definitely hot. – It’s definitely hot. – [Blake] Is that what
you call the smoker? – Yes. – Is that the smoker? – We’ve got some fish up there, we’re going to bring them down. – And it’s also a really good
way to keep the flies off. Notice there’s no flies on. – There’s no flies, yet
it does smell funny. Something with the transmission
has gone a bit pop. It didn’t go pop, it just stopped. (all laughing) It just stopped. (engine roaring)
Oh, yes. (upbeat drum music) (bicycle wheels turning) (man laughing) So we’ve just come out
of the trail, and look. Hang on, look at this. The shuttle is here. (giggling) That is the shuttle for us dudes. So what do you think of that, then? Does that go to your plans? – Well, not exactly, but, hey, you just got to roll with the punches. – It pretty much went as I expected. (all laughing) – Oh yeah, first gear,
low range, 4000 rpm, something might have to give. All right, let’s load up. It’s a long way down now. Uplift. Done. – Completed it. – [Blake] Thanks.(laughs) (rooster crows) – It’s day one in Australia. Suffering from jet lag, so what better way to remove that jet lag, than to go and see koalas, and some kangaroos, because I don’t think it’d
be Australia without it. I think, having seen one
of those hopping things, the best thing ever. What the hell is that? Ah, he’s an emu. I didn’t know. Whoa! Look at that guy. They’re like miniature, oh it stinks. They’re like miniature… Oh he’s doing a wee. Oh, that is a poo. That’s disgusting. Right, koalas I thought were
massive, but they’re tiny. And look so cute, look at that one. Chilling the hell out. And that one. I’ve been looking forward to holding one. I don’t know, that one. Oh, look at him move. – [Zookeeper] He sits on your
front, and then you hold on. – Oh, mate. (chuckles) – [Zookeeper] She’s not,
it’s really really strong. – Is it? There’s grumpy guts in the
corner there by himself. Hello. – [Parrot] I want to scratch. – [Blake] A scratch? – [Parrot] Want to scratch. – Scratch, scratch. (whistling) This is one of those real
indigenous animals in Australia. (sighs) They’re very handsome looking. (chuckles) That’s a dinosaur. Ah, mate, there’s a dingo, mate. Dingoes. Bet it’s boiling for them. Aw, there is a dingo in there. Deep inside the hole, in there. So that little horse over there, he’s in the cage because he’s dangerous. But these things, look at these guys. He actually looks quite scary. What are these, Jack? – [Jack] That one is an alpaca. – Alpaca, and a… Look at that one. That’s the spitting one. Oh, Jack, look at that donkey. Bloody horrible. Jack, I hate them. Emus scare the beejeezus out of me. Look at this guy. Actually don’t. These things scare me. These things scare me. Whoa, you are scary. So scary. Them things are scary. There’s a kangaroo, Jack. – [Jack] And there’s a wallaby. – [Blake] Want to be what? – [Jack] A wallaby. – A wallaby. Hey, mate. (clicking tongue) That is a small kangaroo,
a.k.a. a wallaby. Want to be. A want to be kangaroo. So there you go, that’s
