Loris Capirossi, THOK E-Bikes and the new world of E-Mountain Bike

Hi everybody, we are in Montecarlo’s hills with Loris Capirossi and Stefano Migliorini. We will spend the day riding our e-bike and trial moto, and Loris, ex pro biker, will explain motorcycles and ebikes’s differences and the common aspects. Hi guys! I definitely just discovered a new world. I’ve been racing for many years, 22 seasons, in Moto World Championship, then I’ve decided to stop. I’ve come across the eMTB world thanks to Livio, Stefano and the brand THOK. A fantastic world I have to say. THOK’s ebike is easy to use, thanks to it’s low gravity center for the battery placed under the down tube, and the geometries that seem to be those of a motorcycle. I’ve always trained with trial motorcycle and I still do. Now when I face trails with the THOK MIG, it seems I’m living in a different world even if doing the same things. 27,5”+ tires gives almost the same grip and feeling of motorcycle tires. I jump on my ebike, ride in the mountains without making noise, I enjoy and I almost feel like I’m riding my trial moto. I do a little more effort, but thanks to the electric engine, fatigue is halved. I would never ride a MTB without the electric support. Moreover, THOK has front and rear top quality suspensions completely settable, and a breaking system very similar to the motorcycle one: hydraulic brakes with 4 pistons calipers and 200mm breaking discs both in the front and the rear. In terms of security, I’ve got all I need. Good morning, we are in Montecarlo’s hills and today we will give Loris Capirossi his new THOK bike and we’ll ride together. We’ve made some changes in order to set the bike up for Loris’ need. First of all, as Loris is a motorcyclist, we reversed the brakes (left lever activates rear brake and right lever activates the front one). This is an easy job with Shimano brakes. Then we made both tires tubeless, and we inserted the air-liner into the rear one. We also adjusted the suspensions, Lori’s right SAG is 30% rear and 25% front. Finally, we changed the seat tube cartridge due to Loris physical needs, and shortened a little bit the handle bar, as he loads the front wheel when riding, to feel faster and safer.
