Lightning Web Components for Community Cloud

Lightning Web Components for Community Cloud

(calm music)We are now in the e-bikes experience, where bikers come to log a case, engage with e-bikes, learn more about products, and connect with other bikers. Today we’re gonna show you how this experience was built with Lightning Web Components for Community Cloud, a new language built using modern JavaScript web standards. With Lightning Web Components, you can power both custom and out of the box components, allowing you to create components that are more performant and flexible. For instance, this rich media video is a custom component that was built with Lightning Web Components. And below that is a rich tile component that comes out of the box, powered by Lightning Web Components. When you refresh this experience, you will notice that these rich videos are still very fast and load quickly. You can actually see a 20 to 50% performance gain, depending on the component, use case, and data under the hood. We also have 80 Lightning-based components that are built in Lightning Web Components. With these building block components, you can create more custom Lightning Web Components. And we have Lightning Web Components threaded throughout this digital experience. Now let’s jump into the product explore page, which is entirely built with Lightning Web Components and the latest and greatest Salesforce API technology. When I search for a Fuse bike, the search is incredibly quick. I then click on Fuse X4, and receive more product information that is powered by CRM. These filters, tiles, everything is custom UI built with Lightning Web Components. When we jump into case creation, we can see how Aura and Lightning Web Components are connected and work together. The case form is a custom Lightning Web Component and the case creation component is a standard Aura Lightning component. When you create a case in the case form, it is automatically populated to the right. These components are not only connected and work with each other, but they are also connected to Service Cloud. Now let’s jump into the builder and see how easy it is to use Lightning Web Components for an admin. As we scroll through the component list, we see all of our out of the box Aura components and custom Aura components. Within this section, we also see our new custom Lightning Web Components. Just like with Aura components, you can easily drag and drop these components onto the page to build your experience. And when I click on the component, there are many settings for me to edit this component, all with clicks, not code. (inspiring music)
