How the Da Vinci Technique helps you Mountain Bike Better

Hi Groovers Chris here from www.mtbtips.com Leonardo DaVinci once said simplicity is
the ultimate sophistication to become more sophisticated and more
capable mountain bikers we need to continually strive too simple our thoughts rather than
cramming your head with a constant stream of do’s and dont’s as you ride the trail use verbal cues to deliberately push to the front of your mind the one most important thing you need to
focus on at any one moment to help you adapt to the
trial the best I’ll show you some footage of verbal cues I use on this trail in a second. With this new singular focus
you’ll have a heightened awareness. With only one thing to think
about at any one time you make faster and better decisions,
seamlessly transitioning your focus from one thought to the next without
panic Here’s when and what I say in my mind as I ride the
first section of this local trail. ‘Start in the Gear I’ll need next’. ‘Relax’. ‘Look for the wide entry’. ‘Outside foot pressure’. ‘Relax’. ‘Look for the wide entry.’ ‘Outside foot pressure.’ ‘Relax through the Trees.’ ‘Set your Speed before entry’. ‘Exit wide and straight’. ‘Downshift.’ ‘Seat Up.’ ‘Look through the trees.’ ‘Push this gear.’ ‘Hold this gear all the way up the climb.’ And here’s what it looks like in real
time. Remember the key is to work towards
simplifying your thoughts down to one at a time. When you’re
thinking about less at every moment you’re thinking clearer. Your mind is more relaxed to not only
make faster and better decisions but more of them even under pressure when things suddenly
change or go wrong. You’ll also prompt the techniques you’re
more familiar, or the less crucial ones at the time, to slip into place without even having to think about them. Start using the DaVinci Tip on your next ride and mountain bike better!
