Giant TCR Adv 1 Road Bike 2016

Hi, Greg Griffiths here from Ivanhoe Cycles
and I’d just like to show you the new 2016 Giant TCR Advanced 1. The Advanced frame is
Giant’s mid-level frame, it’s a composite which is a cheaper frame than the
Advanced SL – the superlight – which is the dearer frame, but this is the mid-range frame. It has Shimano
Ultegra components, which is the second-top of the range in Shimano. So it’s quite a high-level
bike, although the price perhaps doesn’t indicate that, being quite good value for money. So
Advanced frame, Advanced carbon fork, Shimano Ultegra components, a Giant wheel set and
Giant ancillary components. So – saddle, saddle pillar, handlebar and stem. Overall it’s a
really nice bike. It’s a TCR, so it’s aimed at the sporting rider or the racing cyclist.
Whereas the Defy range of bikes from Giant are more recreational, this is a little more
tight in the geometry so it’s a little faster, faster handling, lower headtube here so it’s
a little bit lower in the front so the rider can be a little more aerodynamic. However,
that is adjustable with the spacers here underneath the headstem. So the bars can be lower or
higher as required. The new Ultegra 11-speed groupset works really well. The lever action
is quite light, so the gear shift, even for someone with smaller hands, is still quite
easy to operate. So an up-shift and a down-shift is just a push of the lever. So, a really
nice bike – stunning colours for this year. Fashions change, at the moment the lime green
is the rage – it’s a great colour and a really nice looking bike and very lightweight. So
anyone who hasn’t got a fortune to spend but wants to have a nice quality bike; this is
something to consider. Thanks.
