Giant Talon 27.5″ 2 2016 Mountain Bike

Giant Talon 27.5″ 2 2016 Mountain Bike

Hi my name’s Ben, I’m from Ivanhoe Cycles
and I’m going to be talking to you about the Talon 2 2016 model. This particular bike is
totally suitable for all intermediate-level mountain bike riding. This frame is an aluminium
frame, it’s a 6000 series ALUXX butted Giant frame, and one of the best features on this
particular bike is the suspension. The 2016 Talon is equipped with the Suntour Epixon
fork. Now, this is a fantastic fork because it allows the rider to tune and set the suspension
to exactly how you want it to be. It’s an air fork, meaning it’s actually really quite
light and it’s perfect for that intermediate level rider. But, it’s also really highly
adjustable and highly tuneable. So with the 100mm of travel, you’re going to get the perfect
amount of travel for any intermediate level riding, single-track, anything that’s got
a few little jumps or bumps – it’s going to be ideal for this suspension set-up. But,
a few of the features here are very adjustable, for example; you’ve got the lock-out, which
– as it usually does – stops the compression of the forks. You’ve got your rebound at the
bottom. This adjusts how fast the shock actually springs back up. And then you’ve got your
low-speed progressive dampening adjuster. Now this is going to allow you to tune the
bike and make the bike much more smooth at the lower speeds, or – should I say – the
lower forces of compression, and then also going to prevent bottoming-out when there’s
more force and impact coming through the forks. The Talon 2016 model is equipped with the
27 and a half inch wheels. Now these are fantastic because they get the benefits of the 29er,
in terms of the rollover and the size and your ability to go through the terrain, but
also with the 26er in terms of it’s weight and it’s handling ability. So this makes it,
for any rider that wants to ride on intermediate terrains, a really, really fantastic set-up
on these wheels. So the Talon 2 is running 10-speed Deore componentry. Now, this is a
middle-grade component, it’s going to be fantastic for anyone that’s looking for an intermediate
style bike. It’s relatively light compared to other components. It’s actually not “up
there” with the highest on the “food chain” – I guess you could say – but it’s perfect
for that middle-range kind of riding. It’s relatively light, it’s very strong and
very effective group set. The Talon 2 is running the Tektro Auriga hydraulic disc brakes. They’ve
got a 160mm rotor, and the hydraulic disc brakes is definitely something you need and
something you’re going to get on an intermediate to advanced level mountain bike. It’s going
to make for a much faster and a much more effective brake when you’re on a faster terrain,
or if you’re on any downhill sort of terrain, you’ll definitely need that speed in the braking.
So overall, the Talon 2 2016 model is a fantastic intermediate mountain bike. It’s my favourite
in the range, so come in and take it for a test ride. Thank you.
