Faraday Porteur S Electric Bike Review

Faraday Porteur S Electric Bike Review

Hye folks, this is Peter from Bikes and Life and I’m here at the
Roosevelt Island tramway and we can see that we’re with a bit of a snowstorm but
I’ve got the Faraday Porteur S here and this is one of the coolest new electric lights that
we haven’t quite some light so you should really gorgeous really well
designed well made and what I want to do is take it down and go for a little ride
in a little bit about it is actually when the latest electric bikes the
market which one of the reasons why you’re able to easily carry it up and
down steps and picking up to put it inside your car because the motor is a
little bit less powerful than some of the super fancy high powered electric
bikes out there it doesn’t require as bigger battery which also makes it you
know a lot later so you can see we’re down here on 2nd Avenue and we’re gonna
go ahead just turn this bygones we do that is by tapping this just happened
once the blue light comes on and then the red lights are gonna come on as a
pack and also as well indicating that you also get a pretty
cool front plate up here which is very brave attached directly to the handlebar
on the stem so it’s a nice integrated design and it is really quite break now
and should be able to see how the display is like black over here and wait
over here so you could only see it when there’s light on it but it doesn’t put
up on its own so it’s again it’s all about subtleties it’s all about looks
and design and the static would say go for its maiden voyage on
the streets of New York has a five speed Sturmey Archer internal
gear hub and what that means is that all the cars are contained inside the rear
wheel which keeps them safe from moisture or snow but the way that you
should twist shifter so it’s easy to use a torque sensor
that’s built right into the bottom bracket what that means is that as
you’re pedaling actually knows that the pedaling because it can sense it right
in the pedals if you take a look down here you can see this bottom bracket
areas kinda big so the pending pressure is sense right down here in the bottom
area and then it tells the motor to go based on the settings that are in the
controller and on the handlebar so that way it becomes a very simple intuitive
the right there and just cuddle and everything else along its twenty miles
an hour which is great because you can keep up pretty well in traffic you can
climb hills you can get through an intersection and now I’m finding that I
don’t actually use that assists as much as I thought it would be just writes
really well and so when I get to an intersection or someplace that I want to
get through quick him slip on that power boost just get
right to it check out the Faraday Porter more at
bikes and life.com you can also check it out of her mister store and Georgia
store we have the bikes test frightening the border and the point but thanks for
coming along for ride to me thanks for braving the cold and excited for a
beautiful summer this 2016 so we’ll see there and take care and have fun
