Dream Road Bike Build – Custom Raleigh Revenio 4 Team Banana

Hello and Welcome to another Bike and another Restoration Or in this case its more of a pimp my ride bike build. We are breaking all the rules with this Bike. Why? Because on this channel we are generally about Vintage Retro Road Bikes But we are going to be giving this Carbon Raleigh Bike a very Nice Retro Twist This is a Raleigh Revenio C5 it came in Red and also this deep Blue. which was sold with the full Ultegra Di2 as stock. Raleigh have been producing Bicycles for over 100 years. Yet for some reason now, they have stopped producing the road bikes. Which I feel is a real shame, and we have done so many Raleigh Road Bikes on this channel. That I thought this one would be a great one to mix up and celebrate the Raleigh Brand and the success of the racing history of Raleigh. So our Bike here, is how I exactly got the bike itself. It was fully loaded with Shimano Di2 so it does have these blanking caps on here. So before I could get on with any actual build of this bike what I had to make sure is that we got hold of the conversion kit because it would of been an expensive build to do. I contacted Raleigh direct and we have some new caps here to put on the frame when we are ready to rebuild the bike. I cannot wait for that! So, the bike itself has got an FSA seat post FSA headset which was standard which was with the bike itself. And it has also got the Raleigh own brand RSP handlebar stem. No we have had that slammed already, that looks really well. As I say when I got the frame it was up here so that looks a lot better in that respect. But what we are going to be doing though, we are going to be giving this bike a complete revamp, look. So we are going to be sending off to a close friend of mine. So we are going to go and have a look and I will take you through the process of this. We are going to have the bike, repainted and a complete new look on that. So, it should look really good but before we do that what we are going to have to do is take off the seat post the head set and also the most important part the head badge the Raleigh head badge. Which is very good and iconic, so lets get a move on and Crack-On with that. Brilliant well there is the frame all ready to go to the paint shop I have not clamped this by the way and under here was really complicated so top tip. If you are struggling with anything like that, just take a quick photograph on your phone something like that something to refer to. Because there is loads of bits on the side here and obversely it is a mine field regards to putting all these back in the right place. So top tip take a photograph, lets get down to the paint shop and get cracking with that. OK, Brilliant well the mail man has been and and their is a big hole in my bank account and its got my name on which can only mean one thing which is a groupset. So I just thought that I would share this with you while we are waiting for the frame to be finished off, I can not wait to get that back. So yes lets get this box open and have a look what we have got. Well this is the Cassette Sprocket it is 11 speed and we have gone with the Shimano 105 group set it is the 5800 range. So yes the Cassette we have gone with 11 – 28 tooth this what I generally ride. And it is a good range of gears so yes we have got this and we have got some Vision wheels on the way to us, soI can get on with putting the cassette on. Prior to getting the frame back so ill be getting on with that in a minute. Well we have got some duel pivot callipers, there is one, two. We have got a front brazed on front derailleur, Shimano 105 obviously Bottom Bracket well need that. 11 speed chain We have got a short length rear derailleur That is fitting the 11 – 28 Cassette so thats fine and we have also got our duel control levers brilliant combination of the gear lever and the brake lever. and yes they look great, so crankset lets have a look It is like Christmas day OK so we have got 175 crank arm, pedal arm. and the crankset the chain rings are 36, 52 so that is the gear ratio, on the front we have a 36, 52 and 11, 28 on the rear. Which is what I generally ride and as I say give a good range of gears. So lets get this cassette on the wheels and we can take it from there. Wow I cannot believe it, just have a closer look at this frame I have never been so excited about building a bike up. The frame was finished off by Mark at MRCreations I am absolutely loving it. Everything you see here is all airbrushed and no decals have been used Just check out the all important head badge with the ghosting behind it. It looks absolutely amazing and a sparkle has been added to the yellow which I feel really does set this bike off. well why the Banana Team, well it was very close to my heart, around 1989 if you was in the UK you will know what all this bike was about. I will pop a picture for you up there, this is me on my first Raleigh Banana, my first ever real road bike. It was 531c tubing and I loved this bike I used to ride around this area on this bike many years ago. and I just thought it would be lovely to reproduce a bicycle and celebrate the Raleigh brand. with a bike that felt retro but had that modern feel to it, to rip some hills up, we are going to be doing that so hang around for that, that is on its way. So yes that is why we have gone with this colour scheme. It looks amazing I cannot stop looking at it. Absolutely amazing! I really have not been so excited about building a bike up. So lets get on, so anyway the saddle we have gone with a suede Turbo L1 saddle very flat brand spanking new. No expense spared on this one. And we have also got the lever stickers which I asked you guys in a previous video to vote for. which one we should go for so we have got them here, these are exclusive to BikeitUK and with over 100 designs to choose from. and these actually fit on to your levers, so i have these here but I am not going to reveal which one is the winner just yet. You will have to wait until the end of the build. But yes I have them already to go here and we have also got a torque wrench, we have got a carbon frame here. so we are going to have to work with a torque wrench, I don’t want to be breaking this frame that would be a absolute disaster. We have got the group set already to go there we have gone through that already. and we have got the nice Vision Team Comp 30 Wheel set with the Vittoria Corsa Tyres on they look amazing and very retro in deed. So what are we waiting for I can not wait! Lets get this bike built up. WOW! Well it has taken a little longer than usual to put this bike together but what an amazing result it is. I can not stop looking at this Bike the actual levers We went with B thanks so much for everyone that voted A or B. So yes 60% of you voted for B and I think that they really do look great on this bike and set it off. The frame we have gone through with the yellow sparkle looks really good and the Corsa tyres really do look retro. This really is a Dream Bike for me, to have such a modern ride and all the retro colours I can not wait to get this bike out and try it out. Loving the L1 Turbo Saddle we have got some clipless pedals on and it just looks absolutely amazing. We have got some black stealth elite water bottle cages We just need to put some bottle in we have some here. Which I use personally two nice big bottles elite coca cola ones. very in keeping and great for a long ride so I am going to be taking it out for quiet a good ride so hang around for that because I can not wait to get it out and try it out But before we do that all we need to do is get changed We we have got all the matching kit so all that is left to do now is get this bike out and try it out I can not wait! Well this has been the Raleigh Revenio Project and what a Bike this has turned out to be Not only does it ride amazing but it looks fantastic as well It really is best of both worlds being modern with a retro look. 11 speed 105 groupset with the Vision wheels and the Victoria Corsa Tyres it really does set it off and I could stay on this bike all day long if you do enjoy watching these videos as I generally always say then please subscribe. It is completely free of charge other than that then why not visit our website at bikeituk.club Thanks for watching and bye for now.
