Budget Mountain Bike Hydraulic Big Brake Set using Shimano M315 w/ 203mm rotors unboxing and review

Yes! As you can probably tell I really like getting packages in the mail Let’s see what we got in here. a lot a lot of bike parts So I ordered this Shimano M315 brake kit and 203 millimeter rotors from Amazon I’m currently building a budget-friendly Couple suspension mountain bike and I’m ordering piece by piece Coming from a Tektro mechanical disc brake set on my old bike this is gonna be quite an upgrade So these brakes came pre-bled which I like because I don’t to do anything and They also come with a spacer in the caliper to make sure that nothing gets damaged if you accidentally actuate it without it Without a disc brake in there This is the u.s. Model I’ll show I’ll show you an amazon a minute in a minute that There are two M315 brake kits once a year model and one’s a US model make sure you get the US model if you’re here since You’re gonna have to switch the handles if you get the Euro model, and it’s just extra work, and it’s it’s not worth the Saving the $18 or whatever comes with the mounting hardware So these are gonna be all the bolts I’m going to be used using to mount these calipers on my bike build But since I’m going to be using 203 millimeter rotors And my bike my forks meant for 180 and my frame is meant for 160 I’m gonna need to get adapters so you’ll probably see that soon And for the rotors these are not Shimano brand Brand there I’ll go ahead and show you in a minute When I pull it up on the computer No bag for the bolts they are just in there. Not really complaining. Doesn’t really do anything. These are huge. Never had 203 millimeters rotors before. coming from 160 mm previously these gonna be quite an upgrade so I Touched these using my hands. make sure when you install them you clean this with like an alcohol wipe and get all the Moisture off from your hand or the the oil from your skin because that can possibly affect brake performance Not that it really matters, but let’s go ahead and weigh these They are six point six ounces each Which is a little a little under 190 grams I’m actually pretty happy with the rotors so far There they have arrows to indicate which direction they’re supposed to be installed It says 203 millimeters right there There is even the recommended Torque spec so you don’t over tighten it or not tighten it enough I’m gonna go ahead and show you what I was talking about earlier about there’s a u.s.. Model and the Euro model They both come up to the top when you type in Shimano m315 hydraulic disc brakes So the US model the rear brake is on the left oh Sorry, it’s on the right rather than the left on the Euro model, and if you’re here You’re probably used to this kind of brake system, but if you want to save $24 you can go ahead and get this one if you feel comfortable take your brake lines off Switching to the opposite brake handle and rebleeding. It’s really not a big deal I just didn’t want to do that so I went with this one either way I’ll go ahead and add both links to the description and clearly label it So you don’t get confused and it’s easier for you to get to whichever one you need So this is the disc brake set that I went with it’s the Hermaphit it came shipped labeled as Gymforward But they’re two two hundred and three millimeter disc brakes with the bolts For $20 which I thought was insane, and I read the reviews and they were awesome But can’t really say how they’re going to perform until we finish our build in about two weeks so feel free to subscribe if you would like to stay updated on the build I Just want it done already
