Bike Talk – Mathias Flückiger’s Radon Jealous | SHIMANO

Hi guys, this is my new
bike: the Radon Jealous. And I’ll now show you some details. As you can see, the bike is equipped
with a full Shimano XTR groupset. I prefer normally a
single ring in the front. For example a 36T. When it’s a little bit steeper
then a 34T is the right option. Or when you need a lot of range… …when it’s flat and there
are steep uphills as well… …then I choose the
double ring in the front. Like at the world cup track in Albstadt. That’s a good example. This bike is set up with
a 11-40T cassette… …but sometimes in really steep climbs
I use also the XT 11-46T cassette. You can shift really fast
and really accurate. The shifting performance in dry conditions
and also in the mud is still the same. And that’s a big advantage. Here we have the Shimano XTR brakes. With a 160mm disc brake rotor. There’s a really accurate pressure point. And also the performance in long
downhills is still the same. For me it’s really important that… …during a race you have in every condition
the same control over the brakes. The cockpit… …the handlebar and the
stem are PRO Tharsis XC. My cockpit with this setup is really stiff. If you go out of the saddle you can
push really hard on the handlebar. And also in a downhill when
you have really big drops… …you still have the control. I think it’s a really good setup with the
alloy stem and the carbon handlebar. As you can see we have in the rear and
in the fron the new ‘boost’ system. And that gives you even more
stiffness on the whole bike… …for steering and the
transmission in the rear. This is my bike and I
hope that you like it. And I hope we’ll see this bike in
a couple of races in the front.
