A.R.C. Battle Born ADV/Dual Sport Motorcycle Jacket

A.R.C. Battle Born ADV/Dual Sport Motorcycle Jacket

Hey guys, this is Chase at Rocky Mountain
ATV/MC and welcome to our product spotlight for the Battle Born jacket from A.R.C. All right guys, so this is the Battle Born
jacket from A.R.C. Now A.R.C does an incredible job of making
high quality adventure gear at a very friendly budget. Now what you’re gonna get with this jacket,
you’re gonna get a mid-level four season jacket, you’re gonna have a waterproof z-liner membrane,
you’re gonna have a removable zippered thermal quilted liner, you’re gonna get great ventilation
which is gonna help this jacket transition very well from colder riding into those warm
and even hot summer days and you’re also gonna get CE rated armor in the shoulders, elbows
and the back. Now adventure gear can be expensive but the
great thing about this Battle Born jacket, it is not going to break the bank. Now before we get started, let’s just talk
about fit real quick. I’ve got Zack here, Zack is five foot nine,
he’s 220 pounds, he has a 43 inch chest, he’s wearing size large in this jacket. Now, it’s gonna have an American cut, so it’s
gonna have plenty of room in the chest, plenty of room in the abdomen area and plenty of
length around the hips and when we talk about it later, you’re going to see there is a lot
of adjustability with this jacket, so let’s dive into it. Now when we look at the construction of the
jacket, you’re gonna get a 600 denier shell and then up here on the shoulder on each side,
you’re gonna have this ballistic polyfabric over the shoulder that’s going to give high
abrasion resistance in the case that you do go down. Now we talk about protection, this jacket
is gonna have you covered. You’re gonna have a CE rated armor in the
shoulders, in the elbows and you also have a CE rated back pad that comes included with
this jacket. For a jacket at this price point with this
much functionality to have a CE rated back pad included, that is very rare. That is an awesome feature from A.R.C. Now when we look at the jacket as a whole
you’re gonna have plenty of reflectivity. You’re gonna have reflective panels on each
arm, you’re gonna have reflective piping up here along the shoulder and the nice thing
is that all these flaps that cover the vent and the pockets, all these yellow stripes
are also gonna be reflective as well. So if a car’s headlights get on you, you’re
gonna light up extremely well. Now let’s talk about adjustability because
you’ve got plenty of it with this jacket. If we start up here around the neck, again
you’re gonna have Velcro closure there, it’s going to be adjustable and I like that they’ve
done neoprene around the collar of the neck. That’s gonna prevent chaffing while you’re
out riding. So if Zack wants to he can open this up, unzip
it a little bit to let some air in and these are gonna have snaps on each side of the collar,
so he’s going to be able to snap that down into place. If I have Zack spin around for me, here on
the back of the neck you are gonna have an elastic cinch so Zack can really cinch that
down to keep out that foul weather. So face the front. Now if we go down, work our way down the arms
here, on each forearm, you’re gonna have these cinches, you’re gonna have straps there to
cinch that down. On the wrist, you’re gonna have Velcro closure
there. So again just a lot of adjustability, a lot
of thought has gone into this jacket and around waist here you’re gonna have straps on each
side so Zack really strap that down and keep any extra material from flapping around. And last down here at the bottom, I’m gonna
pull one out and show it to you, you are gonna have…turn a little bit for me Zack. You are gonna have elastic cinches down here
at the waist. Again, he can cinch those down and create
a nice seal at the bottom of the jacket. Now you’re gonna have five external pockets
on this jacket. You’re gonna have two in the chest, up here
on the right chest, what I like is that you’re gonna get a waterproof zipper on this pocket
here. You’re gonna have your left chest pocket here
with the nice reflective panel and then down here at the bottom, two big cargo pockets. Now they don’t have waterproof zippers but
they do have big storm flaps that are gonna help that water beat off. I open it up, there is gonna be your big cargo
pockets there and you are gonna have an ID pocket on the left forearm which I like and
that’s also gonna have a waterproof zipper as well. Now the ventilation on this jacket’s gonna
really help it transition well from those colder riding days into those warm or even
hot summer days. You can take the liner that zips in, you can
take that out and you can open up the vents on these things. So you’re gonna have four zip vents on the
front here. You’re gonna have two up here along the shoulder
and what’s nice is that they designed this jacket and put those vents in a location that’s
gonna get the maximum amount of air-flow. So up here on the shoulders, two vent zips
there and you are gonna have waterproof zippers on all the vents on this jacket which is a
great touch. So two there, you are gonna have bicep zip
vents as well, again waterproof zippers. So both biceps, Zack turn and face the back
for me. So here on the back, again these big reflective
panels that come all the way down and that’s where you’re gonna have your giant exhaust
vents. So all that air that’s getting sucked through
those sleeves and that chest area and in the shoulders, it’s gonna be able to breathe through
the back of this jacket. So again, a lot of ventilation built into
this jacket. Now we continue, look at the back of the jacket,
you are right here gonna have your pouch for hydration bladder. Keep in mind the hydration bladder does not
come included but it’s gonna fit right inside there and you are gonna have a little grommet
here for your sip tube to go through and there is actually a couple of loops on the front
that we’ll show you in just a minute that you can use to route your sip tube. But working our way down to the bottom here,
I like that they have this giant reflective panel there to really make you light up at
night time. And again, plenty of length in the back so
even when you’re sitting in your motorcycle, you never have to worry about this jacket
coming up. A really good design from A.R.C. All right, so Zack, face the front for me. So again, right here on the front you’re gonna
have two loops, you have one on the shoulder, one on the chest, that is to route your sip
tube from your hydration bladder. Now we’re gonna open this bad boy up and see
what’s going on on the inside. So again, nice big storm flap here, you are
gonna have a snap down at the bottom and I like that they have done a big beefy YKK zipper
that comes all the way down. Again, at the price level you’re getting this
jacket, a lot of functionality and amazing amounts of quality built in. So Zack hold that open for me. So here on the inside, you’re gonna have two
internal pockets, you’re gonna have one on the liner and you are gonna have one up here
on the shell of the jacket on the inside. Now this right here, this is your thermal
inner liner. Now remember this, this zips in so you can
take it out, so on those warmer days you wanna zip that out. You’re gonna have just that shell and you’re
gonna have that ventilation to stay cool. So what we’re gonna do next, we’re gonna take
this jacket off of Zack, we’re gonna put it on the table, we’re gonna remove the liner,
remove the armor so you see exactly what’s going on on the inside. All right, so now I’ve got the Battle Born
jacket out here on the table, I’ve got the liner and the armor pulled out, we’re gonna
walk through and talk about each piece. So starting out with your liner, this is your
thermal quilted liner, remember it zips in. You are gonna have four snaps on it, you have
one on each sleeve, you’d two at the waistline, so along with that zipper, it’s gonna snap
in as well. If I open up we look at the inside, right
here you are gonna have one pocket on the inside left. So that’s your thermal quilted liner that
goes on the inside. Moving on, this is the jacket itself. If we open this bad boy up and look at the
inside, again you’re gonna have a mesh liner throughout the entire inside, it’s very comfortable. Down here at the bottom, you do have your
two waist cinches so you can cinch the jacket down, and right here, this is where your back
pad is gonna go, okay? You’re gonna insert it in here, it inserts
very easily. Remember that’s gonna be CE rated and I’m
gonna show you that here in just a second. Right down here at the bottom, just wanna
show you, you do have two loops, that is for the snaps at the bottom of the liner. Now if we look at it, this is gonna be the
back piece. I said again, comes included with the jacket
and it is CE rated, it just inserts very easily in that pocket on the inside. Remember, comes included. So this is the Battle Born jacket from A.R.C. Now, you’re getting an exceptional quality,
it’s waterproof, you’re getting CE rated armor in the shoulders, elbows and that back pad
and you’re getting all this at a price that you honestly can’t beat. If you wanna get more information on this
